How to Use

This website is designed to aid in eating IC (Interstitial Cystitis) safe foods.

There are many food lists available online, ranging from general to specific, and although they agree on most foods, they do not agree on all. Thus, for simplicities sake, I have chosen to use one list (found at www.ic-diet.com in January of 2022) as a reference for my recipes, which you can find at this link. I have also included a copy on my website, as links change with time, but I did not create this list. Moving forward I will refer to it as - IC food list.

-You should note that it may not be fully representative of the most current information or what works best for you.

The IC food list groups foods as considered bladder friendly, foods to try, and foods to be cautious of. The ingredient list in each recipe will reflect these ratings in the coloring of each item.

Green highlighting is used for ingredients that are in the bladder friendly category.

Yellow highlighting is used for ingredients to try that may or may not be tolerated.

Red highlighting is used for foods to be cautious of.

Gray highlighting is used for foods that are not specified on the list.

There is also a rating system for the recipes based on the bladder friendliness of the ingredients needed.

Is for recipes that can be made from all bladder friendly ingredients or with very few omissions/substitutions.

Is for recipes that contain ingredients that may or may not be tolerated and substitutions will likely affect the flavor in a noticeable way.

Is for recipes that contain foods to be cautious of or that may/may not be tolerated, in a way where substitution is not an option.
